We started Cascade Hop Farm as a family in 2014 and continue to work it with our own hands in the soil. We are also fortunate enough to have some great friends locally whom lend a hand, knowledge and a beer when the going gets rough as well as some amazing growers from around trhe counrty who continue to bless us with friendship and encouragement - thanks to all of you!
The Bachelor yard at Cascade Hop Farm was built in 2014 in the middle of the farm and entered production that same year. The Bachlor yard covers about and acre of beautiful loamy ground bordered on the east by a large pond and will be expanded to encompass about 2 acres (scheduled for winter 16/17). The Bachelor yard is home to Cascade Hops, Nugget Hops, Centinnial Hops and TBD-2017.
The Broken Top yard was built in 2015 on the west end of the farm and borders the Rye fields at Crater Lake Spirits. The Broken Top yard covers 1.5 acres of Oregons most fertile farmland a fact that shared by the beautiful hops it produces. In the early spring this hop yard is a favorite perching area for numerous redtail hawks. The Broken Top Yard is home to both Cascade Hops and Centinnial Hops.
Our Bine to Pint fresh Harvest at Cascade Hop Farm is a time of family and friends (new and old) coming together to share in the bounty of the season. As Oregons earliest adopter of the Hopster were proud to have played a roll in its wide scale adoption and continue to work closely with the developers at HopsHarvester to improve this game changing solution for small scale hop growers.
